Let your feet take you wherever you want to go

Listening to your footsteps and controlling your breath is one of the greatest pleasures of running. Feel how your body responds, how your endurance improves as you enjoy the breeze of the race.

The wonderful thing about running is that you can run wherever bicycles and walkers do, even where motor vehicles cannot go. It is a fantastic exercise that only requires willpower and determination.

Manzanares El Real has such a varied orography and so many paths and possibilities, that you can always choose what you want to do at any given moment, where you want to run and how much you want to exercise: mountains, rocks, flat sandy paths or asphalt.

You are the only one who gets to choose the level of effort. We give you the opportunity to live the experience of doing what you like most in unique natural and historical places, always respecting the ground you walk on.

Run like your life depends on it

You can run freely in natural or urban areas, in running traces or change to another trail, just as you wish.

A great way to get to know and experience Manzanares El Real is by running our Open Urban Running Circuit.

In ManzaRunning you will run through different places of the town that will bring you closer to our Historical and Natural Heritage, as it passes through our main monuments such as the Old Castle or the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Peña Sacra, and through such emblematic natural areas as El Tranco or the slopes of La Camorza. Of course, all of this is done in an urban area, if you like to run on asphalt.

In its 10 kilometres of total distance, you can choose whether you want to do a short 5 kilometres route or even a shorter one of 3 kilometres, each of them signposted, equipped with fountains, circuit training parks with exercise equipment and rest areas.

In Manzanares El Real you can run on just about any surface: on sand on the cattle tracks, where your strides will be flat and stable; on dirt and stones in our mountains, where the ups and downs will make you sweat; on pure granite rock in La Pedriza, where you will have to jump many times to be able to continue on your way.

The variety is endless, but remember to always choose the most suitable footwear for the type of surface you are going to run on. Don’t forget that we are the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Regional Park and the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park, and always keep in mind that we have to respect the natural space we are running in.
