Tukitos, something small?
\nWe visit Tukitos with the first question in our minds. What does that name mean? From the shop window, at number 8 Calle Panaderos, the unmistakable smell of pastries that is already presumed to be artisanal, makes us feel that we are in front of a special establishment. Cristian welcomes us to introduce us to his business, a family business, run by him, his wife, Rossibel, and his son, Emerson. Of Honduran origin, with more than twenty years of residence in Spain, although only a few months ago in Manzanares El Real. “We came to Manzanares with great enthusiasm and we already know that we were not wrong,” Cristian tells us. <\/p>\n
“Tukitos” is a word that is popularly used in Honduras to describe “something small, but good,” he points out as we take a seat. Once the first mystery has been revealed, we begin the interview to learn in detail everything that surrounds this cafeteria and pastry shop that opened its doors last April.
\n“We opened the first Tukitos in Guadarrama,” Cristian tells us, and continues: “I have always been dedicated to the world of hospitality and my wife, who is a pastry chef, began to make cakes from home, with quite success, finally, that conjunction made us decide to undertake and open our business, take the leap and make it our own.”<\/p>\n

\nproducts At Tukitos we find a wide variety of products: “85% made by ourselves, by Rossibel, 100% artisanal and with natural products,” says Cristian, “as well as exceptional coffee. We are motivated to provide good service and the best quality.” On the other hand: “We regularly vary our cakes, personalized, our pastries, so that our customers find it attractive. We rotate the product, all of which is being key to the good reception that Manzanares is giving us, and also the many visitors who arrive, especially on weekends. We have been struck by the friendliness and close treatment of manzanariegos and manzanariegas, as an example that many simply greet us from the other side of the window when they pass by. That had not happened to us before. That proximity makes you feel very good,” says Cristian with a broad smile. <\/p>\n

If the varied and rich pastries have been a success and a discovery for palates that already frequent “Tukitos”, coffee is no less so. On its menu we can find from the “classics”, through the “cappuccinos” and a large number of teas (matcha tea with orange, chai or matcha in frapp\u00e9, to name a few); or chocolate. And innovations, such as coffee with tonic, which is very popular. “Serving a good coffee is not as simple as it may seem,” Cristian tells us. “It’s not only the product, which is fundamental, but also the way it is combined, presented, with its cream, its foam; how the machinery is kept ready. That set makes everything count.” <\/p>\n
Before saying goodbye, we asked him about the decoration of the premises, a pleasant and welcoming space that undoubtedly attracts attention. “We commissioned the renovation, but we didn’t like it, so we did an almost total recomposition. I like to carve wood and I have made a lot of the furniture. We also changed the paint and, although at first we were not very sure of the result, it has been something that continues to attract the attention of our dear clientele.”
